Come One, Come All, It's BRACKET TIME
Hello again, everybody! Hopefully everyone had a good, safe weekend. That northeast storm got pretty ugly. Trees uprooted, fences blown away, power still out.
Well the worst of the storm (and winter) looks to be behind us (knocking wood with crossed fingers.) As we turn the page into spring, March Madness is here to help us through the transition period. The teams are in, the brackets are out, and the country has began searching for their Cinderellas.
As promised, we here at the blog are getting in on the action. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we are having a free-to-join March Madness contest, where the winner will take home a prize similar to the $25 Modell's gift card that Gordon Lerman took home when he won our NFL Playoff Challenge.
So how do you get in? Well, we are running the main page through ESPN. If you're members of ESPN, just sign in and fill out a bracket. If not, hopefully, just take a minute to sign up and you'll be good to go. Go ahead and follow this link:
http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/en/group?groupID=73426&entryID=687332
Keep in mind though, that we will have other participants that will give us their brackets through other means. The complete standings will be posted and updated THROUGH THIS BLOG SITE. Just because you are first in the ESPN page, make sure to check this page to make sure your on top of all other contest participants.
This contest will be far easier to manage than the NFL playoffs one. Once you fill out a bracket and the games start, all your work is done. Even the biggest college basketball nerd has no opportunity to improve their chances once the tourney starts. Everyone is in the same boat, and everyone has a chance to win.
So hopefully you guys will help out me and Chris by joining the pool. This is a public group on ESPN (no password needed) and, as always, we go by the-more, the-merrier philosophy. If you have friends or family that have a bracket and want a chance to win a free gift card, go ahead and shoot them the link. This is not limited to readers or our friends or anything. If you fill out a bracket, you can win the prize.
So have at it. We will have analysis and thoughts on the actual tournament later in the week. But it's good to get the contest out as early as possible. So sign up, pick a champion, and maybe even invite some friends to join. Winning feels oh-so-much better when there's a lot of people competing.
Best of luck, and check back here for updates.
