The Super Blog

Waking up this morning, I realized three things:

1) It's Super Bowl Sunday
2) I have work
3) I haven't written a Super Bowl blog yet

I'm at work now, so number 2 is being taken care of. Number 3 is currently being handled between serving orders of hot chocolates and french fries. And number 1 is going to suck a lot more than usual.

Usually when I wake up Super Bowl Sunday, I'm pretty pumped. Super Bowl Sunday means eating, socializing, and now that I'm 21, a lot of other fun things. I've also enjoyed a weird lucky streak on Super Bowl Sunday for some reason; the past two years have been awesome Super Bowls to watch for everybody, and the years before that the teams I bet on won the games, good parties, and I even met a future girlfriend during the really boring Pittsburgh-Seattle Super Bowl. Super Bowl Sunday always seems to work out for me, good game or not.

But this year, however, I have to work during the Super Bowl. 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM. GAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! As much as I want to skip work, being broke gives me no choice. But at least I'm only missing half the game.

Fear not, though, this entry won't be a giant venting session. My quick two cents on the game before I get back to work.

I think the Colts are going to cream the Saints.

It's really more of a hunch thing. I'll leave all the specific positional breakdowns to Conor (who picked the Saints, but still, I got no time); to me, there's no way in my mind that a battle-tested, championship-winning squad with Peyton Manning at the helm loses this game. It's rather obvious, but it's obvious for a reason.

Colts 38, Saints 24

I'll try and make up for my thorough lack of analysis with a couple of longer articles this week about athletes and their off-field issues and what to do about them as well as my weekly Standing on a Pedestal segment. Enjoy the game everybody, and good luck to those of you still alive in the contest!
