The Leaderboard: Wild Card Weekend
Before I post the full leaderboard, I'd like to point out, highlight, berate, humiliate, pour shame on and embarrass the three unfortunate individuals who picked every game wrong this weekend.
Asha Michener, Terrence Regan and Zach Stone selected the Bengals, Eagles, Patriots and Packers, thus earning The Lou Holtz Notre Dame Will Win Award for exceptionally awful pick selection.
To rub it in, I had my British-born father participate in the contest, and he can't name a player on half the teams he selected and would prefer to watch a re-run of The Suze Orman Show with my mom rather than watch the 4th quarter of a Super Bowl. Though he got everything else wrong, he believed in Wade Phillips' crew and correctly picked the Cowboys over the Eagles, and avoided the Wild Card bagel.
With that said, this was a tough weekend for picks. The Ravens' win over New England yesterday seemed to be the game that shook things up the most. Who the hell would've thought Baltimore would be up 24 on the Patriots in the 2nd quarter, or that Arizona and Green Bay would combine for 96 points, or that Shayne Teddy Graham would miss two 28-yard field goals in the same game?
On the flip side, surprisingly nobody managed to nail all the right teams, but there is a very healthy smattering of 3-win people. Here's how things look heading into the divisional round:
The Minka Kelly Bracket of Perfection (4 wins):
Empty.
The Vanessa Hudgens "Lookin' Fine, But It's Still Early" Bracket (3 wins):
Mickey Herzog
Gordon Lerman
Jon Seitz
Dan Canders
The Susan Boyle Bracket of Untapped Potential (2 wins):
Miles Thompson
James D'Amanda
Greg Foschi
Chris Bianchi
Terrence's dad
Kevin Edelson
Chris Roberts
Dan McShane
Ed Reilly
Sean Reilly
Conor Reilly
Ryan Reilly
The Jennifer Aniston Loneliness Bracket (1 win):
Chris Dooley
Carlos Bianchi
The Kathy Bates Bracket of Condemned to Hell (0 wins):
Terrence Regan
Asha Michener
Zach Stone
